I've been fly fishing for ove 40 years and some of my most memorable moments have been fishing some of the UKs small chalkstreams when the Mayfly are hatching. Those are the days that are most enjoyable, often bringing surprise and delight in equal measure.
I'm also a big fan of sea fishing, be it plugging for Bass off the rocks in Cornwall, dropping a line from the fishing boats in the depths offshore or even doing a bit of big game fishing while on holiday.
The hours involved in running a tackle shop make it difficult to fish as often as I'd like which is probably why I like to chat so much about fishing with my customers. Don't be at all surprised if I start chatting away with my opening line of "How's it going? Have you been out recently?"
